Bidfood Australia fully accepts the responsibility that comes with being one of the leading businesses in the country. With a focus on both the Foodservice Industry and the wider community, we aim to make meaningful contributions that make a real difference.
In the industry
AUSTRALIAN CULINARY FEDERATION
Bidfood is proud to be a part of the Foodservice Industry in Australia and is committed to supporting the growth of it. Highlighting this is our continued partnership with the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF), the peak industry organisation representing professional chefs, cooks, apprentices and culinary students.
With a commitment to developing the professional skills and knowledge of members, as well as assisting with Australian culinary competitions, the ACF form a vital group within the industry, and one that Bidvest is proud to be associated.
APPRENTICE CHEF COMPETITIONS
Further to the above, Bidfood is also involved with the two leading apprentice chef competitions in Australia:
- Fonterra Proud To Be A Chef
- Nestle Golden Chefs Hat Award
Competitions such as these provide a great experience for the next generation of Australian chefs, and Bidfood relishes the opportunity to be involved with both, adding value where possible.

DANIEL MORCOMBE FOUNDATION
Since 2011, Bidfood has been supporting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The Daniel Morcombe Foundation is committed to Keeping Kids Safe. It was established by parents Bruce and Denise Morcombe in 2005 after their son Daniel was abducted and murdered in December 2003 while waiting to catch a bus on the Sunshine Coast. The Foundation was established as a lasting legacy to Daniel and now has two main aims; to educate children on how to stay safe in a physical and online environment and to support young victims of crime.
Bidfood engages in fundraising throughout the year, as well as supporting the events organised by the foundation. The culmination of all efforts occurs with the Day for Daniel, which takes place on last Friday of October every year.
KICKSTART FOR KIDS
More recently, Bidfood Australia has also partnered with the KickStart for Kids program.
Founded in 2011 on the belief that every child, regardless of their social or economic background, should have an equal chance, KickStart for Kids runs breakfast, lunch and mentoring programs in South Australian schools. In addition, they also provide basic clothing and healthcare needs.
If children are hungry or encounter hardship, they are not able to fully engage at school, therefore, not achieving educational outcomes. Research shows that children who grow up in hardship are more likely to be uneducated, and live in hardship as adults. KickStart for Kids endeavours to level the playing field.
To assist this worthy cause, Bidfood Australia has committed to donating a pallet of milk every week. This equates to $30,000 of milk for the year and enables KickStart for Kids to serve around 40,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches per week to over 300 South Australian schools.
