Bidfood is putting the planet over plastic and you should too. We are moving towards the removal of single-use plastics from our packaging and disposables range and we want you to join us in making the switch.
As it stands, single-use plastics account for 222 tonnes of plastic waste, the emission of 217,043 litres of fuel and 954 tonnes of CO2 every year. The detrimental impact single-use plastics have upon our wildlife, environment and future makes this everyone’s responsibility.
Through partnering with major suppliers like Biopak and Anchor, and developing our own Caterers’ Choice range, we’ve created a fully comprehensive range of bio-friendly products to provide you with an all-encompassing solution to single-use plastics. High quality, sustainably sourced and competitively priced, our range will ensure that your food tastes just as good on the go. From straws and cutlery to plates and containers, we have over 100 different lines of bio-friendly products to provide you with a like-for-like plastic-free alternative.
The transition from plastic products doesn’t have to cost the world either. Comparative prices between plastic and bio-friendly goods means that an environmentally-conscious switch doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be paying exponentially more. With a low cost per unit across the bio-friendly range, it’s easy to recover the price difference in your menu costing.
2021 has already seen certain states and territories, like South Australia and Hobart, change legislation to ban single-use problematic plastics in their respective regions. We are even seeing direct to consumer businesses like Ecoy step up with an eco-friendly offering. Similar action will eventually take place on a national scale, with Australia’s national waste targets set to make all single-use packaging recyclable or compostable by 2025 – so the sooner you can make the switch, the better.
